I'm probably a bit too late to influence any decisions since I haven't dropped by in a while. Just to add my two cents:I purchased it via steam while it was on sale, and I would consider it a worthwhile purchase, but then again I had no preconceptions about what it would be as the first time I saw it was when it was on sale.
**If, somehow, Peter Moleneux (or however his name is spelled) came over to your house to profess how merely being within 10 meters of Trine would raise your IQ 50 points and summon an army of virgin Losts to serve as your man-slaves, and you bought the hype, then I could foresee some disappointment in your future.
Otherwise, Trine is a fun (if easy) game with good voice acting, an enjoyable though cliche story-line, a suitably epic final level, and most importantly did I mention that it is fun (fun along the lines of Portal and Mario Bros.). The achievements though are what make it worthwhile imho, especially the challenge "Better than the Developers", which is to make it through the final level with no lives lost.
Actually I didn't buy it yet because I was going to wait for the PSN version. However, now that there are rumors of a level editor, I may get the PC version just so that I can play other people's levels.
Anyway, thanks for the info Laser - I was a bit on the fence about it but I think I will still get it.
